Hints: Sand Desert: Shortcut:
There is a straight shortcut that only power characters can use. When the race starts, you will be in
the desert. Go straight ahead to the big coin-looking object and travel through it. You will be underground
and be propelled in the air at the end of the tunnel. This is the time where you can do
tricks. After you fall, you will be in front of the next ramp. The second shortcut is when you enter
a place that looks like an ancient temple. Go straight ahead and knock the big rocks out of your
way. The last shortcut requires perfect timing. When you go past the rocks you will see giant stone
soldiers. One of them will be discolored [darker]. Airslide into it and you will break through.
Any other statue except that can not be broken.
Hints: Splash Canyon: Shortcut:
As Tails in level 2 of the Hero storyline, there is a shortcut in a waterfall. After you make the first
jump, when you are turning around the bend there is a waterfall. If you go through the beginning
of it, you will find a fly kicker and accelerators.
Hints: Bonus tracks:
Win the Heroes Cup with a Gold Emblem to unlock the Sega Carnival track.
Win the Babylon Cup with a Gold Emblem to unlock the Sega Illusion track.
Hints: Dark Desert mission 4:
Make sure to trick off the three drop-offs. When you get to the weird part, take the Speed route instead
of the Flight route. There are three jumps on this one instead of two.
Hints: Green Cave: Shortcut:
Go near the end of the stage. When you see the first ramp, get your jump to maximum height without slowing
down. Make sure you are going at maximum speed and hold the Analog-stick Up. If done correctly,
you will hit three spider webs and cut off part of the track.
Get to the part where you are about to go onto the centipede thing in Green Cave. To make the centipede
get to the opening faster, before you go on the centipede shoot off to the right. The centipede
should go down or up. Either one is good. The centipede should go to the left, then go to the hole
faster. In, White Cave follow the steps above except go to the right.
Play as Knuckles and go to Green Cave. When you start out, go at a normal speed. When you approach the
grind rails, slow down. When you go around the turn you should see a power formation sign. Smash
through the blockade under the sign and you will unlock a shortcut with a lot of dash panels which
will send you to the forks just before the centipede ride.
Hints: Faster boosts and stronger attacks:
Depending on what level your attacks are, they will last for a longer time and have a paralyzing effect.
At level 1, you will have a short boost and weak attacks; and no paralyzing. At level 2, you will
have a medium sized boost and stronger impact on enemies; and short Paralysis. At level 3, you
will have the longest sized boost and a powerful paralyzing attack on your enemies.
Hints: Jumping:
When you are about to jump to a second floor that is far in front, hold A and move the Analog-stick
Up. Then, jump just when you reach the edge of the ramp. If the second floor far up from you, hold
A and move the Analog-stick Down. Then, jump just when you reach the edge of the ramp.
Hints: Finding shortcuts:
Ramps almost always lead to shortcuts. To reach these shortcuts, hold A for as long as possible [without
slowing to a complete stop], then release it at the very edge of the ramp.
Hints: Turbulence:
To use turbulence effectively, wait for it to appear and ride on it. After you see arrows on the side,
move towards it to gain speed and air. Also, it is an effective way to get in position to pass and
hit an opponent.
Hints: Metal City: No traffic:
Once you get off the short ramp and reach the fork in between two tunnels, go to the left. There will
be no traffic. If you are going very fast this will be the best way to get through the tunnel without
hitting any cars.
Hints: Glitch: Wrong dialogue:
Before the Dark Desert race, there is an intermission sequence showing Storm holding a chip-looking object.
When everyone starts to read it, Storm will say 'It's about the Babylon treasure from our ancient
ancestors.', but it reads 'It's about the Babylonian treasure from our ancient ancestors.'
Hints: Voice announcer:
When you play as Shadow, first perform a few tricks. If you listen closely, you can hear the announcer
say 'She has made a perfect landing!' or 'She landed perfectly and has taken advantage of the speed
boost.'
Hints: Red Canyon: Shortcut:
There is a good shortcut that can only be used by flying characters. When you get to the first river
stream with the waterfall ahead, go past the speed and power signs. Then there will be a path you
can take to go forward or left. Go forward and turn left to see a booster. Get on it and do not turn
left or right. You will then see three big looking rings [accelerators] and you will be taken to
the Ferris wheel-looking object in a short amount of time.
Hints: Billy Hatcher And The Giant Egg reference:
In Sega Carnival, when you get shot out of the cannon you will turn into a ball. With Sonic, you will
turn into a white ball with blue polka dots. This ball resembles an egg from the game Billy Hatcher
And The Giant Egg.
Hints: Bonus characters:
Successfully complete the Hero storyline to unlock Shadow The Hedgehog, Rouge The Bat, and Cream The
Rabbit.
Successfully complete the Babylon storyline to unlock Eggman.
Complete Storm's, Wave's, and Jet's missions to unlock AiAi, Ulala, and NiGHTS.
To play as Super Sonic you must get all the Gold Emblems in Mission mode. Then, a Chaos Emerald will
be selectable as one of Sonic's Extreme Gears. Choose it, and Super Sonic will appear. Super Sonic
goes ridiculously fast, and has all three types [Speed, Power, Flight]. However, he has some disadvantages.
For example, you will lose rings rather than air. This means that sharp turns and boosting/attacking
will make you lose rings. Once you have lost all your rings, you will revert back to
normal Sonic. To change back, simply acquire one or more rings.
Complete 100 races to unlock E-10000G. Alternately, accumulate over twenty hours of game time.
Accumulate over fifty hours of game time to unlock E-10000R.
Hints: Babylon Garden: Shortcut:
Go past the first ramp and first turn. You will see boosters. Ride into one and you will see a small
ramp. Make sure your jump is at maximum without slowing down, and hold the Analog-stick Up. If done
correctly, you will ride the turbulence that will shortly be created by a jet.
Another shortcut is near the end of the track. When you see the end of the turbulence created by the
jet, you will see a ramp. Go forward and make your jump maximum without slowing down, and hold the
Analog-stick Up. If done correctly, you will cut half of the automated trail and reach the top
faster.
Hints: Random character selection:
Press R at the character selection screen.
Hints: Metal City mission 1: Easy completion:
Off the first ramp, do a back flip. After you have completed the flip, spin until you land. You will
receive 10 points. You can perform stunts again on the drop-off just before the two tunnels. Do the
same thing and you will receive 8 points. Trick on one of the slopes on the side of the four-lane
road. Finally, on the ramp before the end, do a backflip off it. Make sure to release A on the
very edge of the ramp. If done correctly, you will bypass the hanging part of the stage and be offered
another ramp to trick off from. Use this to get 30 points or more.
Hints: Knuckles: Boosting:
When using Knuckles [especially on missions], you can boost often to give yourself an edge or complete
the mission on time. Keep in mind that when you punch through objects you will gain air. When you
get hit by objects you will lose air.
Hints: Egg Factory: 100 rings:
Go past the part where you are blown into the air by a vent. You should see a machine with spinning cocoon-like
objects. Go to the inside of it, and you should see a capsule with 100 rings in it.
Hints: Bonus missions:
Successfully complete the Hero storyline to unlock Storm's missions.
Successfully complete Red Canyon or Night Chase in the Babylon story line to unlock Wave's missions.
Successfully complete Wave's and Storm's missions [including Sega Carnival and Sega Illusion tracks]
to unlock Jet's missions.
